Lucy has lived and worked as an Artist and Art teacher in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire and Bristol area for the last 25 years. Before this she lived in the South East of England. She moved to Devon in 2020 and returned to Bristol in 2024.
Born in Guildford, Lucy moved with her family to the U.S.A., Cambridge, The Wirral and North Wales returning to Guildford in 1979. Lucy completed her B.A. (Hons) Degree in Creative Arts at Trent Polytechnic, Nottingham in 1983 and returned to London and Surrey.
After travelling in New Zealand, Australia and south East Asia, Lucy completed her Art and Design PGCE at Brighton Polytechnic in 1989.
Her work has been inspired by her travels and places she has lived - areas such as Barcelona and the beautiful volcanic Catalan mountains, Lanzarote, Australia, The Forest of Dean, Devon, Wales and The Wirral, The South Hams area in Devon with its beautiful rolling countryside, wildlife, estuaries and coast. Now It is the Bristol area that inspires Lucy with places like Blaise estate, Harbourside and the City itself.
Her style has grown and evolved to a mix of realism, expressionism and impressionism using water colour, acrylics, oils, collage and emulsion.
She works from her own collections of sketches and photographs where her final works may be a composite or realistic version based on reality, imagination and memories.
Exhibited in Olot - Catalonia, Barcelona, Bristol and Newent. More recently Instagram has been a platform to show her new works.
